History

Guaranty Insurance was started in 1957 in Texas under the name Timber Line Company and was part of the Temple-Inland family.  The expansion of the Texas agency began in 1992 through 1999 by acquisition of six agencies in strategic locations including Arlington, Austin, Baytown, Houston and San Antonio.

In 2002, Guaranty capitalized on an opportunity to expand its presence to California by acquiring a Los Angeles based construction and real estate agency, James Econn.

Looking to the future, the objective was to continue growing the Agency in both Texas and California.  With this goal in mind, in 2004 Guaranty acquired TCT Insurance Agency, a Dallas based company.  

The following year, Guaranty increased its California holdings by acquiring a strong multi-location agency in Southern California, Walter Mortensen Insurance Agency.   The strong name recognition and respect that the WMI agency has in the Bakersfield and surrounding communities has allowed them to operate in these areas since 1919.

Guaranty’s Texas footprint increased again in 2007 with the purchase of a Tyler/Henderson agency, Hilliard Box Insurance.  Building on a successful presence the HBI Agency has in East Texas since 1985, they continue to serve those communities today.

Guaranty Insurance was acquired by a well known Dallas business executive in December of 2008 and is now a privately held corporation based in Plano Texas, with a vision of organic growth and expansion through the acquisition of high quality agencies.

Under the leadership of a new executive team, Guaranty Insurance looks forward to a dynamic future with the opportunity to continue as a preferred insurance agency to our clients, our carriers and our employees.
